Lansing City officials say they are well prepared for the winter storms mid-Michigan has received, but a prolonged winter could prompt the city to draw winter dollars from the general fund.

City council officials say winter road maintenance budgets have not been cut despite ongoing budget cuts, but would not promise cutting back if budget demands change.

Mayor David Hollister said the city has a $10 million rainy day fund that could hedge any bad winter road worries.

City officials say $1.2 million is budgeted for roads and winter maintenance this year.
