The battle begins for the Lansing Park Millage.
Voters will decide in August whether to renew the tax that supplies the Parks and Recreation Department with about $2 million annually. That money is used to maintain city parks and help fund new projects.
Murdock Jemerson, Parks and Recreation Director, said with recent city council budget cuts, the millage carries even more weight now than in past years.
Opponents, who've started posting signs around town, claimed the money would be poorly spent.
