Plans Underway to Repair and Open Mason Public Library

The City of Mason's supervisor and representatives from CADL agree plans need to be put in motion to get the Mason Library cleaned and up and running again.

The library was closed three weeks ago due to mold that can cause health problems for people with allergies or respiratory problems.

Ingham County Health Department toxicologists evaluated the damage and recommend a professional cleaning along with removing some affected paneling.

Both parties met Wednesday and the city will start making plans to have the library cleaned and then tested. It will remain closed until the library gets a clean bill of health.

Both parties also agree water and drainage problems will also need to be looked at further in the near future in order to prevent future mold problems.
