Mark William Hunter, former Columbia Township Police Chief, has been charged with three felony counts. According to the Jackson County Prosecutor's office, Hunter allegedly embezzled township property, violated state eavesdropping laws, and misconducted himself in office.
Witnesses in court documents allege he stole police guns and sold them and that he also video recorded "sexual relations in his office while on duty.”
The prosecutor's office also says Michigan State Police Tuesday found "evidence" of the charges after searching Hunter's Brooklyn home.
The 44-year-old Hunter is out of jail on bond. He's expected to appear in court within two weeks.
Hunter's attorney could not be reached for comment.
