One day after the partial collapse of the St. Anne Lofts in East Lansing, the city is taking action.
According to city Code Enforcement Director, Howard Asch, East Lansing will file an engineer's report to see if there is any further damage to the structure.
In addition, any new electrical and plumbing installed to replace what was destroyed will have to be inspected.
The city is not sure how far the project will be set back by the collapse, but Asch believes unaffected lofts will be able to open on time. For the affected lofts, getting new materials will be the most time-consuming part.
