After State Senator Glida Jacobs went to a movie over the holiday weekend, she realized something should be done to inform consumers when the movie really begins. She has introduced legislation forcing theaters to publish two times, one when the previews and
advertisements begin and the other when the show starts.
"This is getting to be an aggravation," complains the Oak Park Democrat.
The theaters may argue that could cost them money, but Jacobs contends it will not. She calls it a consumer protection issue that is being considered in three other states.
