In a story first seen on News 10, state unemployment offices have been dealing with backlogs and lack of trained personnel to help those filing unemployment.
But state officials say by Jan. 1, most of those problems should be taken care of.
Noelle Clark, Director of The Department of Consumer & Industry Services (C.I.S.), says that her offices have found the technical glitch hampering the often-busy hotline.
She also says that C.I.S. will begin testing Internet fillings by next week.
In the event you are having difficulty filing your claim for unemployment benefits, her office recommends either sending your claims to one of the below three addresses or visiting you local office of Michigan Works.
Addresses to mail applications for unemployment insurance benefits:
P.O. Box 169
Grand Rapids, MI
P.O. Box 5050
P.O. Box 11671
