Mid-Michigan gets Federal Grants

By  |

A federal grant of one million dollars will benefit several areas in mid-Michigan and may lead to business growth here.

The money comes from The Environmental Protection Agency -- for brownfield redevelopment.

It means some tax breaks and reimbursements for clean up of old buildings or contaminated sites.

Brownfields can be areas contaminated by years of petroleum use or buildings with mass decay -- likely showing their age.

Here's a list of the areas receiving the most recent grants; Eaton county, The Charlotte Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and Ingham county.
