In a day and age when video games and electronics are the gift of choice, there are those out there who are looking for the right mix of entertainment and education.

Educators say parents are constantly faced with decisions about what toys to buy and what toys to avoid. They say play materials should offer children choices and room to explore.

They say Leap Frog products are good as long as adults are there to monitor the child's play and are interactive with the games. Educators say Leggos allow the children to learn a variety of skills.

Leggos allow the children to learn colors and how to count. It also gives them a chance to explore and build. Educators say birth to eight years old are when children are most active and children learn best when they are actively involved.
