Meridian Township Police say they caught a man after he tried to assault a resident at the Campus Hill apartment complex in Okemos Sunday morning.
Police say at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday, a man tried to force himself into one of the apartments at the complex and assault a resident there. He then tried to escape on a bike and then on foot.
Police were able to catch up to him and arrest him. Police say he also assaulted an East Lansing police officer in the process.
The suspect is in the Ingham County jail where he could face home invasion and assault charges.
East Lansing police assisted with a K-9 unit.
