Kids Put Down Their Pencils to Take Time for Exercise

Students from more than 980 schools participated in ACES. Michigan leads the nation in participation in the program.

Wednesday morning, for about 15 minutes, more than 400,000 students were exercising at the exact same time. Nearly 1,000 of them were working out with leaders from the Y.M.C.A. on the Capitol lawn.

Prominent people from the community spoke to the kids about the importance of exercise for both the mind and the body. Kids had fun dancing and jumping to the music.

ACES kicks off a summer-long campaign by the Michigan's Governor's Council to promote physical fitness for families in Michigan.
