EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Most of the buildings that once housed the Michigan State Police headquarters in East Lansing are being demolished.
The Lansing State Journal reports crews were busy this week at the site, which is owned by Michigan State University.
They aim to complete demolition by mid-August. Demolition will cost an estimated $3.1 million, with part coming from the state.
State police moved into a new headquarters in Lansing in 2010, and university officials say they don't need most of the structures. A few will be left standing.
