Police Seek Suspect in Attempted Abduction

LANSING - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who reportedly tried to abduct and assault a child. Police say they responded to the area of Kalamazoo Street and Jones Street short after 6 o'clock Sunday evening. There officers contacted a a girl they say was between the ages of 8 and 11 and her parent. In a press release sent to News 10 the police state, "It was determined that a male subject (suspect) approached and enticed the female to a nearby location and attempted to assault her. The female was able to escape without injury and called the Police."

A composite sketch of the suspect has been developed.

The suspect is described as; a white male, 5'11 in height, approximately 30 years old, with brown hair, wearing eye glasses, blue jeans, and a shirt with orange, white and brown stripes.
