Issues for Lansing's next mayor

Jeff Williams of Lansing's Public Sector Consultants says both State Senator Virg Bernero or current Mayor Tony Benavides will have to get used to a shrinking city staff or services offered.

That's because the money the capital city takes in is outpaced by the money it spends.

Williams says the three main obstacles the next mayor will face include a lack of good jobs and an unstable economy, problems with local business and community vitality and maintaining basic and critical city services like police and fire departments.
