Authorities in Michigan's Thumb say a 28-year-old woman has been jailed on charges of murdering a boy who was just shy of his second birthday.
Huron County Prosecutor Timothy Rutkowski says charges include second-degree murder and child abuse. He isn't releasing her name until after her arraignment, which is expected Thursday.
The Huron Daily Tribune in Bad Axe says 23-month-old Donavin Cochrane died Dec. 29 at a home in Sheridan Township. State police at the Caro post have been investigating since then, and Rutkowski says authorities recently got the result of toxicology tests on the boy's blood.
The prosecutor says a pathologist has classified the death as a homicide.
Donavin was the younger of two children at the home, which is about 40 miles east-northeast of Bay City.
