LANSING - Authorities have released some pictures of a man they think tore off some pink ribbons from poles and businesses in downtown Lansing.

New pink ribbons are being put up Wednesday. The ribbons raise awareness to the fight against breast cancer and the upcoming Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Sunday. Early this week several ribbons blew away in the wind, but some were removed by a vandal.

Volunteers for the Lansing Marathon this past weekend deny earlier police reports that they may have taken some down mistakenly, not knowing what they were for.

The pictures are not very clear. They come from video taken between 3:15am and 3:35am Monday. The video is from cameras the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget maintains on government buildings downtown. Anyone who has information about who may have stolen the ribbons is asked to contact the Lansing police.
