Barn Fire and Burn Restrictions

By  |

When Stockbridge Fire Chief Don McAlister arrived on scene, he said the barn was already lost. Inside were two tractors, and according to McAlister two cars and a mobile home.

They then turned their attention to protecting a home not thirty feet away from where the fire reached. They hosed down the house, which remained untouched by the flames.

Meanwhile, Leslie Fire Chief George Gilliland says there were at least 10 brush fires in the area, prompting him to issue a 'burning ban.'

The city of Lansing is under a similar temporary ban on burn permits until June.

No word yet on the cause of the barn fire.
