A grass fire in Jackson County destroys four acres Monday afternoon. There were also two other minor grass fires in Rives and Tompkins Townships.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the large fire is under investigation. The other two were caused by people burning leaves.
Firefighters say people need to be especially careful on dry and windy days. Keep fires small and a hose nearby. Also, don't be embarrassed or afraid to call 911 for help.
