How did you sleep last night? Probably not that well if you're like most Americans.
According to the National Sleep Foundation's most recent poll, 75 percent of adults are sleeping poorly. It's a combination of putting off sleep and also dealing with sleeping disorders which some people may not even know they have, says Pam Minkley, Manager of the Center for Sleep and Alertness at Ingham Regional Medical Center.
You can get medical treatment for sleeping disorders and it's not too late to reverse bad sleeping habits. Minkley says to go to bed 15 minutes earlier for a few nights, then make it 15 minutes earlier than that for the next couple of nights. She says you're in the right sleeping spot when it takes you about 10-15 minutes to actually fall asleep.
