Organizers of the Michigan Technical Education Center announced they have achieved their funding goal of over nine million, and plan to open the training center in December 2003.

The center will be built in Delta Township and is said to focus on computer drafting and design, welding, construction, electrical process and wiring and machine trades.

While employers and employees are looking forward to the new center, one of its benefits is that it can service larger groups of trainees in more flexible hours according to technical center organizers.

The ground breaking is expected in December of 2002.
