A Michigan State University student dies in his car after trying to escape a routine traffic stop.
Ingham County Sheriff's Deputies say 19-year-old Chang Sup Yoop of Kentwood was stopped in his silver BMW in the area of M-99 and Bishop Rd. in Delhi Twp.
After slowing down, Yoop sped up and took off onto Westbound I-96 at a very high speed.
Police then called off the pursuit after Yoop turned off his headlights. Later, Eaton County police found the BMW in a ditch between Northbound I-96 and exit 98 B in Windsor Twp.
Police say Yoop's car rolled over several times. Yoop died at the scene from his injuries.
Police are still investigating the case.
