Santa Claus is coming to town. He'll be at the Lansing Mall by the end of the month, but the holiday shopping season is already here, nearly a month earlier than usual.
Marketing directors at the newly renovated Lansing Mall said it cost $100 thousand to install holiday decorations - including a Santa Claus display, a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree and hanging lights.
They say they put up Christmas decorations earlier this year in order to coincide with the mall's grand opening on Nov. 6, 2002.
Mall managers say they expect nearly 7 million people to visit the mall during the holiday season.
Many shoppers say the renovations look nice, but they say they probably won't spend any more money this year than they spent in previous years.
