At around 2:45 in the afternoon on Oct. 28, Lansing Township Officials were shocked to find a deer crashed through their office window causing a preliminary estimate of $1,000 damage.

Witnesses saw a buck scurry through the Police Chief’s window and into the main office.

The buck reportedly stopped at the closed door leading outside and promptly left the way it came.

Officers say the glass that shattered wounded the buck.

Wildlife officials say the behavior is not too unusual for the time of year.

October is the peak in deer mating season, and wildlife experts say the buck already aggressive due to the time of year may have seen his reflection in the police office’s window.

After approaching the mirror image of an aggressive buck he likely charged trying to protect his territory.
