In front of family, friends and city leaders Friday, Lansing Mayor Tony Benavides made his run for re-election official. Benavides filed his papers with the city clerk in the morning followed by a candidacy kickoff at campaign headquarters.

Benavides does not have an opponent yet, but rumors continue to swirl about a Mayoral race re-match between him and State Senator Virg Bernero. Bernero says he will announce his decision within the next month.
