A step towards more convenient college education as Lansing Community College partners with Central Michigan University to keep students in Lansing.

In an agreement signed Thursday, LCC students can now earn a complete Elementary Science Education degree on the Lansing campus. In addition, if students wish to transfer to CMU they can now earn 100 of the 160 credits needed for the degree in Lansing. Typically only 60 credits are allowed in a transfer.

LCC offers about 20 degrees with four year institutions this way. The savings for students are estimated at $12,000 throughout an entire college career.
