More Democrats got out to vote in Tuesday's election, and it turned out to be the margin of victory for Jennifer Granholm.
The polling company EPIC/MRA released a breakdown of the vote and it shows that a little more than 120,000 more Democrats voted in this year's election as did in the 1998 gubernatorial election.
Also, 52 percent of the voters were Democrats and 48 percent were Republicans.
Granholm's margin of victory over Dick Posthumus turned out to be 125,000 votes. That is almost the same as the increased Democratic vote.
And the ratio was 51 percent voting for Granholm and 47 percent for Posthumus. EPIC/MRA says that means straight party voting sealed Granholm's victory.
