Soul Queen Loses Michigan Home to Fire

A fire destroyed a Bloomfield Township home owned by "The Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin, early Friday morning.

Oakland County fire officials said flames consumed the house when fire fighters arrived. No one was inside the home at the time of the fire.

According to Franklin's contractor, Franklin used the 10,000 square foot house to store boxes and furniture and she hadn't live there for a couple of years.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
