Virg Bernero and Paul Deweese - the two candidates running for the hotly contested 23rd District state Senate seat - talked to voters and handed out campaign literature outside the voting polls Tuesday.
Some say the rain and snow may deter voters, but the two candidates weren't worried. Deweese said traditionally more Republicans vote at the polls during rainy days. Bernero said he thought this year's race is unique, and people will vote no matter what the weather.
Bernero came equipped to the polls with a golf umbrella. Paul Deweese said he didn't have an umbrella with him, but he said he planned to stay out in the cold and the rain to continue meeting his constituents.
Polls are open until 8 p.m.
