Twenty-three-year-old Adam Malson was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq Saturday while helping a wounded woman near a mosque, according to the Department of Defense.
The Army lieutenant was from Rochester Hills and had served in Michigan State University's ROTC program from 2000-2003.
Former instructors and classmates remember Malson as a top-student, funny, and a natural leader. He had even met his wife in the ROTC program.
Funeral services will be held in Rochester Hills, likely next weekend.
