The Michigan Sex Offender Registry was allowed back online in August due to a court ruling, and this Halloween some South Lansing families are considering using it before they go trick-or-treating.
The sex offender registry lists the names and address of all offenders convicted of a sex crime.
Authorities are careful to point out that the listing can be for various sexual crimes of different degrees.
The list put out by the Michigan State Police is intended to be a tool for parents.
It can be accessed online at http://www.mipsor.state.mi.us/.
