Sheila Detzler needs your help finding her daughter Samantha, who also goes by Samma. She has been missing as of 5:20 PM on Sunday.
She was staying with relatives over the weekend at the 1200 block of Massachusetts in Lansing when she was last seen.
"We don't want to put an alarm out there when an alarm isn't necessary," said Det. Noel Garcia of the Lansing Police Dept. "We wouldn't be here today if we felt this didn't warrant [a press conference.]"
Samantha disappeared around 10:00 p.m. Saturday night. Police said they are fairly certain she didn't just run away.
"Based on the child's history, she has not had a history of running away," said Det. Bruce Lankheet. "There's just other things that have come up during the investigation that we are concerned about"
Police said they think Samantha may have left her relatives house willingly, and that something may have happened shortly thereafter.
Samantha Detzler is a student at Windemere academy. She is 5'2" and weighs 105 lbs. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt, and a gray sweatshirt.
