At a school board meeting in Grand Ledge some pleaded administrators to ban the reading of a book they say is full of profanity.
The book, "Whale Talk", by Chris Crutcher is part of a school-wide reading program for the district.
The High School's principal sent home letters about the book saying it contains profanity and that parents have the option of opting their children out of the non-manditory program.
Some say profanity in any context doesn't belong in school let alone a book read by an entire school.
The principal says there are no plans to change the book or program.
