Bush Stops In Michigan

George Bush

President Bush came to Michigan on Monday to show support for two candidates critical to Republican political power.

One is Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus, the Republican candidate for governor. The other is Oakland County state senator Thaddeus McCotter who is running for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Bush appeared at an Oakland County rally for Posthumus. Later he was attending a fundraising dinner for McCotter.

Monday's visit marks the seventh time Bush has come to Michigan as president, part of his effort to help fellow Republicans and discuss national and international issues.
