Pounding the pavement, roughly 50 peaceful protesters rallied at the Capital Thursday while MSU College Republicans hosted a watch party.
The Ann Arbor Progressives hosted the counter-inaugural march, which started at MSU's Student Union and ended in downtown Lansing, to provide an alternative for those who could not make it to Washington D.C. Organizer Paul Makidon said the group wanted to send a message to Mr. Bush that his views are not shared by half of the country.
Back at MSU, the College Republicans watched the inauguration on TV. Craig Burgers says he understands what the group is doing and if Kerry would have won he may have been out protesting too.
