"The Capital Coalition for Clean Air" will help plan a collaborative way to go about banning smoking on all hospital property. Both health care facilities say they felt it was the right thing to do and want to set an example.
The first thing in the process is to inform and educate everyone involved about what is going to happen. They will also be implementing a comprehensive smoking cessation program.
Their goal is not just to enforce new rules and regulations but to help smokers beat their addiction. But many employees at both locations are not happy with the plan. They feel it is a violation of their rights.
No date has been set yet at either facility as to when the ban will start.
