Even while Windsor Township's State of Emergency remains in effect, crews begin to assess flood damaged homes.

Eaton County and Windsor Township crews went door to door Wednesay morning starting in the Grand Pointe Subdivision. Armed with checklists, they tallied the damage caused by overflow from the ice packed Grand River.

Two reports were filed on Lafayette Lane, one at Kay Jones' home. Kay's lower level home level was flooded with 10 inches of water. Drywall was still being sawed out of one of the drenched bedrooms when the damage assessor arrived. No word yet on how many other damage reports throughout the subdivision were filed.

If you have not reported flood damage yet please call the Eaton County Sheriff's Department.
