State Strives to Increase Patient Safety

By  |

More than 100,000 people die each year due to medical errors. The State Commission on Patient Safety heard from both consumers and healthcare providers.

They listened to problems and recommendations as to how to cut down on hospital facility errors and make patients safer.

The commission will compile all the data and submit a report with recommendations to the governor next year. One issue they will be working on is finding a better process to report errors without fearing lawsuit. This will help medical personnel learn from mistakes so others can be prevented.
