Republican Congresswoman Candice Miller says she won't run for Debbie Stabenow's Senate seat in 2006.
Miller was considered one of the GOP's best hopes for beating the Democrat. Stabenow was first elected in 2000.
President Bush had asked Miller to consider running.
She says she was gratified but made her decision after talking to family and supporters. Miller says she will fully support the Republican candidate in next year's race.
Miller was first elected to the US House in 2002.
