Tailgate Rules Push Party Into Streets

Local police did not allow grilling or open containers, but that didn't stop some tailgaters from trying.

Students gathered as early as 3:30 a.m. and they killed time in much the same way they tailgate; grilling, football and drinking alcohol in open containers.

Students angry about the new rules threaten that MSU has created a problem and East Lansing will now feel the repercussions.

East Lansing and MSU Public Safety say they don't anticipate a problem and they have the staff to handle the traffic and the trouble.
