Mid-Michigan continues to lend a financial hand to tsunami victims. Most recently, Michigan State University launched a massive effort called MSU Tsunami Relief Fund.
Four groups representing four separate South Asian countries are headquartered at Michigan State's International Center. It started Monday on the students’ first day back from winter break.
Peter Biggs, Director of the Office for International Students & Scholars, says there are a lot of people wanting to do good things right now, and the university wants to take advantage of the giving spirit.
MSU's Web site also lists a number of other organizations that are collecting donations, and a candlelight vigil will be held at the Wharton Center on Wednesday. It starts at 5:15 p.m.
