MSU Prepares for True Tailgating Test

Michigan State University's new tailgating rules have been in effect for one month now, and so far, so good. But MSU's true test comes Saturday for the first late afternoon game since the rules were implemented.

The rules include no drinking, drinking games, no overnight RV parking and no furniture in the tailgating lots. In addition, lots will not open until 10:30 a.m. and they will close two hours after the game is over.

MSU Police say citations have decreased since the rules have been in place. University officials will evaluate the impact when football season is over and decide if any other actions will be taken.
