The Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomed Carl Tannenbaum, Chief Economist of Standard Federal Bank as part of their annual economic forum.
Tennenbaum says the economy is doing well with some areas of concern.
Those areas of concern include creating good jobs with health benefits and the automotive industry.
Tennenbaum is afraid that pressures on profits, cost of production and automotive incentives will continue to drag down profitability for companies like General Motors.
He did however say overall job creation, manufacturing and the housing market are seeing positive signs.
