Job Market Concerns Students

The Career Gallery job fair at Michigan State University highlights the concerns students have about their future after school.

The fair, attracting more than 4,000 juniors and seniors, was held at the Breslin Center on campus. Companies ranging from the auto industry to pharmaceuticals were on hand to meet and greet potential employees.

Students say the current economic climate has many worried about their future. Some say they are considering going to graduate school to bolster their resumes.

Employers say they are definitely being more selective when it comes to the hiring process. They can't afford to just hire anyone who seems to be qualified.

The latest numbers show the unemployment rate in Michigan is 5.8 percent, down slightly from 7.2 percent.
