Freshman enrollment is up seven-percent this year at Michigan State University from last year.
About 7,412 students started classes this fall, 507 more than last year.
Michigan State's total enrollment is now 43,836, an increase of seven-tenths of a percent from last year.
The increase in freshmen at Michigan State came even though fewer students applied to attend the East Lansing school. That's because a larger than usual number of those who were accepted decided to attend.
