Holiday Shopping Winding Down

By  |

Allan Zusstone works in a merchant kiosk in the Lansing Mall. He says Thursday's foot traffic was significantly less than what he saw on Wednesday, which could hurt his businesses sales.

Zusstone blames the morning snowstorm for keeping shoppers at home and Lansing Mall General Manager Ken Huge agrees. He says the snow probably kept people at home. But also, Huge says, many shoppers have finished their holiday buying and are just finishing out the stockings or looking for the last minute deals.

It's too early to tell, but Huge says they hope to exceed last year’s holiday sales by two to three percent.
