General Motors says they plan on closing down the Lansing Car Assembly Plant on November 22, 23 and 24 because of market conditions.
The move follows an announcement made by the company in September that they would close down the plant for seven weeks including dates in October through January of 2005.
Art Luna, President of UAW Local 602 says the time off makes sense.
He says the additional downtimes will only mean an early break for workers before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Luna says the fleet sales for GM's Chevy Classics are in part what's driving the down time, and that next year may bring more work stability.
