A Jackson jury has found 23-year-old Curtis McGoughy guilty of stabbing a woman to death. The woman's six-year-old son was also attacked, but survived and was a key witness in the case.
McGoughy was found guilty of killing 23-year-old Tamara Gant inside her Jackson home back in April. Police say Gant was stabbed 52 times.
Gant's son, Ray Anthony Neil, was in the house during the attack. When he called 9-1-1 for help, McGoughy turned the knife on the child.
McGoughy is scheduled to be sentenced in November; he faces an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
