Youth Vote

Many thought younger voters would come out in record numbers this election, but that wasn't the case. The same number of young voters was seen this year as were seen in 2000.

Exit polls indicate many young voters supported Senator Kerry. Experts say not getting more of them to the polls may have cost the Democrats the election.

Many students at Michigan State University did vote and were disappointed many of their peers didn't join them. Other non-voting students say they weren't crazy about either candidate, couldn’t make up their minds, or didn't send their absentee ballots in on time.

Brian McGrain of "Tomorrow's Political Leaders" says candidates need to spend more time talking to youngsters, not at them.
