Chris and Andre Heinz borrowed a little Hollywood glam when their bus tour pulled into Michigan State Friday.
They came, along with movie star Jake Gyllenhaal and That 70s Show's Allison Nunn, to rev up the youth vote. Nunn said only 42 percent of college students voted in 2000. Already this year, the Democrats told students, registration of 18-24 year olds is up 250 percent.
Those numbers make the student population an important catch for the Democratic ticket. The Heinz bus tour is traveling to college campuses all over the country to remind students about issues like job creation, the environment, and tuition costs, and tout the Kerry plan to help them.
