The outcome of East Lansing's School Board election will be determined by the luck of a draw.

Daphne O'Regan won outright with a vote total of 1,276. However, Randy Bell and William Donohue tied for the second seat on the board with votes of 1,259 each.

Once the election is certified and a tie remains, the two men will be asked to a drawing. Two slips will be put in a hat or box, one slip has the word "elected" on it, and the other has the words "not elected".
